The Cafe run is coming to a close February 13, 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tracy @ 3:37 pm

Well I am amazed and very very pleased…. our trial cafe run was a huge success! We extended our stay twice… and we’ll be leaving Portage Place at the end of February 2011.

As a roaster, I need my roasting equipment with me, and it just isn’t realistic in a mall. Even if we could vent the roasters, the space is too small…. I can honestly say it will be hard to go… the people were so fantastic, and kind… faithful and consistant…

I thank everyone for coming out – I can honestly say I am actively looking for a home to call my own… actively looking for an old building like a church or a school…. in the Peterborough area.. (so sad that we couldn’t buy the Lawnbowling club)

Hopefully I will be able to find something soon…. and we will have a permanent location to call our own.

In the meantime, we are booking our 2011 events – farmers markets and shows …. so you will see us where you are…. Peterborough Farmers market – Wednesday downtown market, Oshawa Center market, Everything Equine show in Uxbridge…. as well as our growing list of stores that carry our products… the newest is Pastry Peddler in Millbrook… we are also looking at the possibility of a farmer market in Port Hope…

Thanks to everyone…. can’t wait to announce our new bricks and mortar location!

The AMAZING and WONDERFUL Karin from Kari Jo’s cafe has taken over the cafe… so it won’t be closing after all!!! ask for her signature blends, INFERNO, FETISH and PEN ISLAND….. check out our links for more details on Kari Jo! her amazing fresh baking was on our counters from day one – so many of you know her food already – seemed like a natural transition to me!!!! let me know what you think?

every attempt was made to make Kari Jo’s cafe a success in Portage mall – but – alas – it will be closing for sure April 1st – no – not a joke or a prank – I am coming into my busy season – and can’t be there – she is as well – and it just didn’t work out for either of us. I am still searching for an appropriate building – hopefully will find one soon – I will be at many local events throughout summer – and please check our links section of the website for local brewing sites… I love being in the field (sometimes literally!!) and bringing my portable cafe with me – even if it’s raining… we’ll be where you are –
